It was a surf mission on why I went to Phuket, I tried to research the map on locations near by the beach. I chose Kamala Beach just because I wanted a quiet area and wanted to get away with the tourist crowd. I booked my accommodation with Baan Kamala because it was nearby a quiet beach place.
Where To Stay
Baan Kamala just opened a year ago, which is why obviously everything is clean and well in place. I stayed in a Deluxe Room and really enjoyed it, from its hip interior, comfy bed, WiFi, cable TV, fridge, hot pot, those are just few of the amazing features. The room is immaculately clean and they offer different types to cater different travelers, such as:
- Deluxe Rooms
- Executive Suite
- Dorm Room with Fan
- Dorm Room with AC
(Deluxe Room with Swing)
My room was amazing (Deluxe Room) with the elegant interior, the room includes air-conditioner, a well stocked fridge (you pay for what you consumed), 2 complimentary small bottles of water, cable TV, WiFi in the room, hot & cold shower, safety box, Queen size soft bed, kitchenette, and a swing! Yep, I have a swing and I truly love it! I love the blue light that glows when I turn the lights off. Linens are also provided clean everyday (except for the dorm rooms).

Staff and Management
Baan Kamala’s staff and management were amazing during my stay, they were so nice, friendly, and very helpful. The receptionists Khun Si and Khun Bom are really awesome, giving me a welcome drink of Lemon Grass tea (not to mention a quarter of the club house sandwich they were feasting on before I left). They can help you with almost anything they can, they actually lend me a motorbike when a friend decided not to show up with the motorbike I was going to rent. Even though it was just used for less than an hour to meet up with the charity foundation people, it was really nice of them to offer. I did not meet the Duty Manager ‘Phol, he was the one I contacted and when I booked online. He was also the person you will get to talk to when you call their hotline, he really was helpful sending me Phuket maps that were helpful to navigate around the area easily.
Location is obviously in Kamala Beach, this is the quiet area of Phuket where you would not have the loud and crowded Patong (clubbing) area. It is nice and quiet and close to the beach, Kamala stretches all the way to connect to Surin Beach. Few nice bars and restaurants around, also, along the main road to the left is a nice bar/restaurant that have a live band playing every night which is a nice hang out if you decided to stay longer in Kamala. These are nice areas of surfing away from the crowd. Or to chill out and enjoy the view without the crazy trash and tourists.
(This was the referred place)
Around the area, the rental rates is at 250THB. Although I found an online place that does it 150 THB a day and will cover almost all Phuket area. When I called them, they did not have the motorbikes for 7 more days and so they referred me instead to a place nearby Baan Kamala. From Baan Kamala, turn left at the main road, up until the next intersection (2nd stop light). You will be across 7-11 and just few steps away from the bus stop, there is a motorbike rental place that does it 150THB a day to your left. Refer to the photos.
