International Women's Day

I was wondering the whole day what to write about, and then recognize most women have flowers in their hands. I can’t resist not to ask the receptionist to the hotel I am staying. The nice Vietnamese girl says “It’s Women’s Day today!”.

Geez, I didn’t remember that! 8th of March is the International Women’s Day. I remember when I was in Italy, everyone hands their female loved ones and friends a yellow flowers and say “Auguri” to them. It’s great that it is considered a holiday in most countries in Asia like here in Vietnam.

International Women’s Day

The first International Women’s Day was declared March 19th, 1848 because the Prussian king of the 18th revolution, and among his promises that he didn’t keep was the introduction of votes for women. In 1913, it’s transferred to March 8, and from then on it’s been recognized the global date for International Women’s Day.
