Those are just few of the most common questions why people could not travel the world AND, for the backpacker’s career trend? Quitting jobs to travel the world.  Yes, according to US survey more and more Americans are quitting their jobs every year and not joining work force.  Forbes.com said, there’s 2 Million Americans quitting their job every month, for whatever reasons they have.  Also, I noticed that there are more backpackers traveling now than when I started in 2008.  The stats I mentioned above is from US survey, not to mention the people who quit their jobs from all over the world to pursue their long time dream… To travel the world.

  1. I quit my copywriting job in an office almost three years ago to do a similar thing on the road, earning more money for about two hours of work a day and much greater control and flexibility. It’s been perfect for me, and even when I’ve had problems with internet access in some countries (Indonesia especially) I’ve never had to miss a deadline. It’s just everywhere.

People have asked me a lot about my job, but then get disappointed when they find out it actually involves work and being good at what you do. I don’t know what they expected. These people then usually just stay in their unhappy jobs because they can’t motivate themselves or need someone telling them what to do every day. I’m sorry for them.

When people tell me they’re ‘jealous’ or ‘envious’ of my job, it just annoys me. When has being jealous got anyone anywhere? If you want to make changes in your life, the opportunities are there. If you don’t look for them, I guess you just didn’t care that much – people should just accept that and we’ll all be happy in our lives.

I’d recommend online jobs for everyone. It’s not a daydream.
