Our Fashionista of this month: September, Katie Mag-isa, 29 year old entrepreneur(Petrol Products Distributor) from Manila, Philippines is here to share us more about herself and fashion. Let’s hear what Katie has to say…
LC: What do you think is your great contribution in the world, or shall I say your achievements that will stand you out from ‘just a fashionista’ to the rest?
Katie Mag-isa(KM): World contribution?! Haha.. that’s a big thing! I’m ashamed to say I don’t have anything to contribute yet but in the near future who knows!.. I’ m not sure if this makes me standout from the rest but fashion wise my uniqueness and sense of style has made me the official fashion consultant of families and friends(Great job! That’s how you start Katie! -Ed.).
LC: Do you believe that Fashionistas doesn’t know about anything but looks and fashion?
KM: NO, I disagree on that. There are actually lots of famous personalities who are fabulously successful in life just like Kimora and Tyra Banks. Being fashionable for me is not just about dressing up well. It is how you carry yourself physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Furthermore, fashionista is someone with style and sophistication. Fashionistas are extremely realistic when it comes to the world of fashion. They are also very knowledgeable about the fashion arts.
LC: Is there anything that you want to point out in Fashion Industry or with other Fashion enthusiast that you agree or not agree with?
KM: Fashion enthusiasts I believe are of three groups. Group1: Those who buy and invest on signature and branded items. Group2: Those who make fashion statements by mix-matching, hmm, not so expensive products. And Group3: Those who are what we call trying hard. I say, a person is not materialistic just because they buy designer suits or expensive jeans. It’s often true about fashionistas that they just happen to know what is called a “good hand” in fashion. What is important is that the person buying, is aware of the quality of the item. Buying good quality clothes is not shallowness.. It’s an investment!
LC: Who is your Favorite Fashion Icon? Why?
KM: Coco Chanel, she is a woman whose sophistication transcends generations..
LC: What do you think of Designer Clothes ans Apparels?
KM: I do love Designer Clothes and Apparels. I adore Max Azria for Herve Leger bandage dress collection. I love how he designs and his genius originality of style.
LC: What about Charity vs Highly Expensive Girl Stuff, what’s your view about it? It is always a moral question for fashionistas as they are more exposed to materialistic lifestyle.
KM: I believe all girls would love to have all the great stuffs they can get. As for the charity issue, I also believe that each of us has our own way to do our duties in helping others.
LC: What was the most expensive fashion stuff you’ve ever bought?
KM: Chanel 2.55 classic bag that I bought in Singapore..
LC: What inspired you to be into Fashion?
KM: Definitely for my own pleasure.. I choose to wear what makes me feel comfy and feel good inside and out..
LC: What is your style? (Chic? Punk? Casual? Rugged?)… Would enlighten us why? What influenced your style?
KM: CHIC in classy sophisticated manner.. I should say Audrey Hepburn influenced me! I really admire her for being simple and elegant.. She is classy, stylish and glamorous without being flashy.
LC: Any Great Dream or Fashion Dream or you want to achieve in the future?
KM: I’ve always been interested in doing makeup and I want to learn to do makeup professionally .. I also want to be a fashion stylist someday.. 🙂
