As the month of August is approaching, Filipinos are starting to prepare for the celebration of their “Linggo ng Wika” (Language Week). The Linggo ng Wika every August was in honour of the Second President of the Philippines, Manuel L. Quezon. He is also known as the “Father of Filipino Language” .

National Filipino Language is Tagalog, with 170 languages are spoken in the country not including Spanish(The native language for 3 centuries under Spanish colonization), English, Mandarin, Cantones, Hokkien(Lan-nang), and Chabacano(Broken Spanish).
In celebration of the “Linggo ng Wika” Specials, most schools, colleges, and universities will speak strictly only Tagalog for a week. Different festivities and activities are often celebrate emphasizing Philippine Culture. This includes clothing.
Yep, Philippine Fashion will resurrect during this period of festivities. Even Barbie goes Philippine Tribal to celebrate the National Language Week of the Philippines.
